Labor Day Gluten Free Quinoa Burger Bonanza - gluten free

In our home we eat a lot of ground beef since it is easy for our toddler to eat and for him to feed himself.

I have been trying to think of ways to spice things up for meals and make a different type of ground beef burger that my toddler will still enjoy. Quinoa came to mind!

My son and husband were pleasantly surprised when they didn’t taste like plain burger patties. They kept asking for more helpings and my husband was annoyed when they were all gone.

Recipe

Makes about 12 patties

Ground beef 1 lb
1 cup quinoa, cooked
1 tsp dried ground oregano
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 egg
1 Tablespoon olive oil
1 Tablespoon safflower oil

Combine all ingredients in medium size mixing bowl and create a large ball.

Heat stovetop skillet on medium heat and pour oils into skillet. Tip and swirl skillet to combine oils.

Take a handful of mixture approximately 1½ Tablespoon in size and form each burger patty.
Add patties to pan. Cook for approximately 2 minutes or more on each size until desired pink in meat has decreased.

Enjoy with my Chilean Style Guacamole in my cookbook for purchase or as my 2 year son, likes to do : Dip it in my Old Fashion Hummus  in my cookbook for purchase!

Add a gluten bun to the plate if you like, but it’s not necessary.
